# Alfred Basta

> Alfred Basta is a professor, author, and musician. He has taught mathematics, computer science, information technology, and cybersecurity since 1996 and has written more than 200 books, from Wiley and Cengage textbooks such as Penetration Testing from Contract to Report to Christian fiction and nonfiction including the novel Ward No. 8, The Malgrave Letters series, and Why I Decided to Believe in God. In September 2026 Best of Best Review named him Best Fiction Christian Author in the United States of 2026. He releases music as The Bastas Project.
