I have some news I am genuinely excited to share. The podcast episode “Human Babies Have Always Been Human Babies” is now available, and you can find it on Spotify.
I will not pretend to be neutral about the subject. The title alone says most of what I believe about where we came from, and I want to explain why it matters to me enough to write about it here.
Why a Title Like That Matters
Think about what the evolutionary story requires. At some point in the distant past, a creature that was not fully human gave birth to one that was a little more human than its parent, and so on across unimaginable stretches of time, until eventually a human baby arrived. Nobody saw it. Nobody can point to the generation where it happened. It is assumed because the theory needs it.
The alternative is the one Scripture gives us and the one every delivery room confirms: human babies have always been human babies. Every human child ever born has been born to human parents. That is what we observe, without exception, and it is exactly what we would expect if mankind was created as mankind from the beginning rather than assembled gradually out of something else.
Why I Want Your Opinion
I am very interested in what you think about this topic, and I mean that sincerely, not as a formality. Some of you will listen and nod. Some of you will listen and object. I spent twelve years of my own life trying to disprove God, so I have a great deal of patience for the objector, and I have learned more from honest disagreement than from easy agreement.
So here is my request. Listen to the episode. Then tell me where you land. Did the argument persuade you? Where did it fall short? What question would you have asked if you had been in the room? I read the responses, and the best of them tend to shape what I write next.
The question of where human beings came from is not an academic curiosity. It decides whether you are an accident or a creation, whether your life was intended or merely happened. I believe you were made on purpose, in the image of God, and that there has never been a moment in history when a human baby was anything other than a human baby. Give the episode a listen, and then let me know what you think.
